24 airlines may bid for TWA’s reservation system.

The group of U.S. and foreign carriers said it already has held talks with TWA about buying the system and sent a letter to C. E. Meyer Jr., TWA’s chairman and chief executive, saying the group was ready to “enter the final stages of negotiations” to purchase the system. The group did not disclose what it was prepared to offer for the system, which it said it would operate as “totally neutral.” TWA had no comment on the group’s announcement.
