Dennis Krieger, a stockbroker and son of the founder of Douglas Oil Co. of California, was among the 133 victims of Friday’s Delta Air Lines L-1011 crash in Dallas, it was learned Wednesday.
Krieger, 46, had missed his original flight by a few minutes, a family friend said, and was forced to reschedule aboard the ill-fated jetliner.
In 1976, Krieger was one of the founding partners of McDonald, Krieger & Boyer, a New York Stock Exchange firm. At his death, he was a senior vice president and director of Morgan, Olmstead, Kennedy & Gardner, a Los Angeles-based investment banking firm.
His survivors include his father, Woodrow G. Krieger; mother, Thelma; a son, John, and daughter, Jennifer Brynn.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Church of the Recessional, Forest Lawn Glendale.
