A San Bernardino County Jail inmate was booked on suspicion of attempted murder after a fellow inmate was stabbed in what officials said was a racially motivated attack inside the overcrowded facility. The victim, Rick Washington, 24, serving time for resisting arrest, was reported in stable condition at San Bernardino County Medical Center. He was stabbed in the chest. The suspected assailant, Fred Archuleta, 21, was a state prison inmate who had been brought to the county jail for resentencing. There have been three violent incidents between Latino and black inmates in the last eight days, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
