VisionQuest, the controversial juvenile reform program, will be part of San Diego County’s probation system for at least seven more months, the county Board of Supervisors decided Tuesday.
The board voted unanimously without discussion to extend its contract with VisionQuest to Feb. 28.
That will give the county staff time to review a pending study of VisionQuest by the Rand Corp., in addition to a federal grand jury report on the program and proposed state legislation that would allow VisionQuest to operate its wilderness camps and wagon train treks in San Diego County.
