Editor Wins Evans Award

The 1985 Charlie Evans Memorial Fellowship of the National Assn. of Real Estate Editors has been awarded to John Surge, assistant editor of Long Beach-based Apartment Owner-Builder magazine.
Surge, 21, said he will use the $1,000 award to pursue a master of business administration degree at California State University, Long Beach. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Humboldt State University in June.
