A small street drug transaction led deputies to a Downey residence where they found 1,235 kilos of marijuana and nine kilos of cocaine worth an estimated $6.5 million, Los Angeles County Sheriff Sherman Block said. Block said deputies witnessed a sale between Rose Aguilar, 30, and Evangelina Cabados, 21, and arrested them for investigation of various drug-related charges. Deputies subsequently searched Aguilar’s home where, Block said, in the attic and garage they found 175 large bundles of marijuana, valued at an estimated $2 million, and cocaine worth about $4.5 million. Deputies also found $23,000 in cash, several weapons and quantities of jewelry, Block said.
