Suarez Gets Past Garcia in Featherweight Bout

Unbeaten Lupe Suarez of Corpus Christi, Tex. outpointed Jorge Garcia of Placentia Monday night to advance to the featherweight final of the Strohs boxing tournament at the Forum.
Suarez will face Refugio Rojas Aug. 20 in the $50,000 championship bout.
Suarez, rated 11th by the World Boxing Council, raised his record to 18-0. Garcia dropped to 26-6-2.
Both fighters weighed 125 3/4 pounds.
