A 9-year-old boy was arrested and charged with five felony counts of extortion for using threats and intimidation to take $170 from his schoolmates since December, authorities in Mount Dora, Fla., said. At least five children were begging and borrowing up to a dollar a day from relatives and friends to pay off the youth, Police Capt. Noel Griffin III said. “This boy was terrorizing those kids,” Griffin said. “We found that these children had been traumatized by these incidents.” The boy, whose name was withheld, was released in the custody of his parents.
