St. Genevieve, Chaminade Are at Home for Second Round of Softball Playoffs

St. Genevieve and Chaminade, the top two finishers in the San Fernando Valley League softball standings, will play host to second-round Southern Section 2-A playoff games today.

St. Genevieve, the league’s champion, will play El Monte in a 3 p.m. game at Pierce College. The Valiants beat Quartz Hill, 3-2, in the first round of the playoffs last week. El Monte, the third-seeded team in the division, defeated Notre Dame Academy, 5-0.

Chaminade, which plays Arroyo at 3 p.m., defeated Whitmont League champion La Serna, 3-1, in the first round. Arroyo beat Canyon of Canyon Country, 1-0.
