Leon Spinks Wins Decision at Detroit

DETROIT — Former world heavyweight champion Leon Spinks continued his comeback bid Thursday night, winning a unanimous decision over Tom (Ruffhouse) Fischer in a 10-round cruiserweight bout.
Spinks, fighting out of Detroit, is 15-4-2 and 3-0 since beginning a comeback after a 22-month layoff. Fischer, of Dayton, Ohio, is 33-10.
In another fight Thursday at Detroit’s Cobo Arena, junior middleweight David Braxton of Detroit (34-1) knocked out Sam Leonard (17-8) of Tulsa, Okla., 2:34 into the second round.
