FCA said it is closing its data-processing centers.

Financial Corp. of America, the Irvine-based parent of American Savings & Loan Assn., said the move will eventually result in the loss of about 280 jobs and save an estimated $15 million a year. The centers being closed are located in Westlake and Fullerton. An outside company--a subsidiary of Fresno-based Guarantee Savings & Loan Assn.--has been hired to handle FCA’s reduced data-processing operations, the company said.
