San Diego police stumbled on more than 180 undocumented aliens, who were crowded into a house on the 3000 block of L Street in San Diego, after finding another alien hidden in the trunk of a car parked outside the house, police said Monday. The aliens apparently were waiting for transportation out of the city when an officer glanced in a window and saw them. They are in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Police arrested Macado F. Chavez, a 19-year-old of unknown address, after he had arrived on the scene in a van believed to have been stolen, Robinson said.
