Chino Man Killed, 3 Hurt in Car Crash

A Chino man was killed and three other people were injured in a two-car collision in Anaheim on Friday morning, a police spokesman said.
The accident occurred at 11:46 a.m. in the 5500 block of East La Palma Avenue near Imperial Highway, Anaheim Police Sgt. Carl Fonceca said An Oldsmobile station wagon driven by Randolph Imada was turning into a parking lot when it collided with a Honda driven by Thomas Longobardo of Whittier, who was traveling east.
Fonceca said that Gundare Aljens of Chino, a passenger in Longobardo’s car, suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His age was not available.
Longobardo also suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was listed in serious but stable condition Friday night.
Imada and a passenger in his car, Edward Aldado of Huntington Beach, also were injured and were taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Anaheim where they were reported in satisfactory condition.
A police spokesman said no charges were filed but an investigation is continuing.
