Two people were killed and five others injured Saturday evening when a pickup truck ran a stop sign at Buckman Springs Road and Old Highway 80 near Jacumba and collided with a sedan carrying five people, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said. Both of the people who died were riding in the sedan, the spokeswoman said. The two riding in the truck suffered serious injuries, while three others in the sedan suffered minor to serious injuries. The injured were transported by ambulance to Sharp Memorial and Mercy Hospitals and UC San Diego Medical Center. The names of the victims were being witheld until relatives could be reached, the spokeswoman said.
