Irvine Women Win in Track, Men Lose

Sandy Combs won three events Saturday to lead the UC Santa Barbara men’s track team to an 88-71 dual-meet victory over UC Irvine on the Anteaters’ campus.
Combs won the 100 meters with a time of 10.5 seconds, edging UCI’s Solwin Clark, who finished second at 10.6. Combs also won the 200 in 21.1 seconds and the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet 4 1/2 inches.
In women’s competition, Jennifer Abraham won the 800, 1,500 and 3,000 meters to lead the Anteaters to a tri-meet win over Santa Barbara and Cal State Bakersfield. Laura Mills also won the javelin and shotput for Irvine.
