Track and Field Roundup : Sjoberg Sets an Indoor Best

Olympic silver medalist Patrik Sjoberg of Sweden set a world indoor best of 7 feet 9 3/4 inches in the high jump Friday night in an international meet at West Berlin.
Olympic champion Dietmar Mogenburg of West Germany was second at 7-7 and teammate Carlo Thranhardt third at 7-6 1/2. Thranhardt set the old mark of 7-9 last year in the same meet.
The world outdoor record is 7-10 held by Zhu Jianhua of China.
In a triangular meet at UCLA, Dwyan Biggers won the 400 meters in 46.8 and had a relay leg of 45.8 as the Bruins won the meet with 101 points. Fresno State was second with 70 points and San Diego State third with 21.
In a non-scoring meet at UC Irvine, John Wolitarsky of USC set a school record of 219-2 in the hammer throw.
