Missing Deputy Found Bound but Unharmed

AUSTIN, Tex. — Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy Janice White, 24, who disappeared for seven hours after investigating an accident involving a stolen truck, was found Sunday handcuffed to a bridge near Coupland but unharmed, authorities said.
Shortly before White was found, an Oklahoma prison escapee, Earl D. Ponder, 20, was arrested. He matched the description of a man witnesses saw White questioning at the accident site north of Austin.
