The City Council awarded a three-year contract for police towing services to Beach Cities Towing of El Segundo, ending its five-year agreement with Redondo Towing of Redondo Beach.
The lucrative contract was given to the lowest bidder, based on Beach Cities’ purposed charge of $36 for towing one car. Redondo Towing submitted a $40 fee proposal.
The contract covers approximately 2,300 towing requests a year by the police.
