PCAA Roundup : Las Vegas Wins 15th in a Row

Junior guard Anthony Jones scored 13 points to lead Nevada Las Vegas to its 15th straight victory, a 70-56 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. win over San Jose State Thursday night at Las Vegas.
The Rebels, ranked 13th by United Press International and 17th by Associated Press, are 16-2overall and 9-0 in PCAA play. Their last loss was to Georgetown, 82-46, on Dec. 8.
Nevada Las Vegas started slowly, falling behind, 7-0, in the first four minutes of the game. The Rebels then outscored San Jose State, 23-14, in the next 12 minutes and moved to a 36-21 halftime lead.
San Jose is 9-9 and 4-5.
Richie Adams (LV) 12 points and 13 rebounds, Freddie Banks (LV) and Richard Robinson (LV) 11 each; Matt Fleming (SJ) 13.
Fresno State 56, Pacific 39--Scott Barnes scored 19 points and Jos Kuipers 18 as the Bulldogs (13-5, 8-1) won at Fresno. The Tigers (7-11, 3-6) shot only 33%.
They scored only six points in the first 11 minutes.
