Community College Basketball : Orange Coast Defeats GWC

Orange Coast College defeated Golden West, 86-75, in South Coast Conference basketball action Wednesday night in Huntington Beach.

With the score tied, 17-17, with 12 minutes left in the half, the Pirates (3-1 in the SCC and 12-6 overall) went on a 10-2 streak to take a 27-19 lead. Forward Garrin Morton scored six of those points and guard Mark Goudge had the other four.

Cypress 48, Saddleback 45--Paul Horn scored 11 points and had 6 rebounds and Lon Bailey added 10 points to lead the Chargers (1-2, 7-7). Eric Cornly led all scorers with 16 points for the Gauchos (0-4, 10-8).

Cerritos 83, Santa Ana 63--The Dons went scoreless for eight minutes of the second half in the loss at Santa Ana. Leading 43-40 at halftime, Santa Ana made just 8 of 27 shots in the second half as Cerritos made 17 of 33.
