Fullerton Women Defeat UCLA, 65-55

Senior forward Meg Gallagher scored 21 points Wednesday to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 65-55 victory over UCLA in a Western Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball game at Pauley Pavilion.
Senior center Teri Withers added 16 points for Fullerton, which improved to 2-0 in conference, 11-4 overall.
Senior forward Jackie Joyner, who won a silver medal in the heptathlon in the 1984 Summer Olympics scored 11 to lead UCLA, which fell to 0-1 in conference, 9-5 overall. Sophomore center Annette Keur added 11 points, and freshman guard Jaime Brown chipped in 10.
