Here’s something you don’t see every day: pregame homecoming ceremonies. They are crowning the queen and unveiling her court in a few minutes at Carson before the Colts play Narbonne in a battle of teams unbeaten in the Marine League.
Asked why the festivities were being held before the game, one member of the event said, ‘Because it’s too much of a hassle at halftime.’ Can’t say I disagree.
Narbonne could rely on freshman Jonnel Johnson at tailback with senior Noel Rankins still hobbled by an ankle injury from last week. I picked Carson to win this game, but I expect it to be a tight contest that comes down to the last possession.
Narbonne tailback Trey Boone also missed two days of practice this week with flu-like symptoms, Gauchos Coach Manuel Douglas said.
