Let’s see if it’s DeRozan vs. Thomspon

Here I am courtside on the Tarbabes’ turf, as the two teams warm up, toss in shots and toss on game faces. It’s a biggie: Compton vs. Santa Margarita in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division I-AA boys’ basketball playoffs. Some would say it’s really DeMar DeRozan (pictured at right) vs. Klay Thompson.

In the second round, USC-bound DeRozan scored 34 points in Compton’s win over Gahr while Washington State-signee Thompson put up a 40-spot as Santa Margarita beat Loyola.

Well, we’ll find out who wins soon. Compton and DeRozan or Santa Magarita and Thompson.

We’re just minutes from tipoff.
