I know, I know...I’ve already blogged about Valencia and Hart twice today, but the Valencia boys’ basketball team‘s commanding 82-55 victory over the Indians on Friday deserves mentioning.
I can’t believe the Vikings steamrolled Hart by so much. I realize John Otavka, Skyler Seymour, Brandon Thrush and Jim Baughman have been scoring menaces for the Vikings, but it looks like the Indians were their own worst enemy in this one.
Poor shooting and rough play (lots of fouls, and a Hart player was ejected) by a frustrated team prompted Hart Coach Tom Kelly to tell the Signal he was ‘throughly embarrassed to be part of Hart basketball’ and that his team ‘acted like babies.’ Ouch.
I thought Hart kicked the adversity bucket when they won their own tournament two weeks ago following an up and down ride through tournament play. However, this team better start playing to its capabilities if it’s going to have a chance against Saugus, Canyon and West Ranch.
