Vikings could use a life preserver

I hate it when I’m wrong. I blogged earlier today that Colton would take the lead for good against Huntington Beach Marina after just 10 minutes.

The Yellowjackets only needed five.

They took the opening kickoff and marched 82 yards in eight running plays -- using four different ballcarriers -- and took the lead an a 15-yard touchdown run by Nick Reyes and a two-point conversion.

Travell Washington had a huge first quarter for Colton. He already has an interception, a long punt return that set up a six-yard touchdown run by converted fullback Damien Holmes and he just popped a 57-yard touchdown run to give the Yellowjackets a 24-0 lead after the opening quarter.

No tantrums spotted on the Marina sideline, however. The Vikings are keeping their heads above water by forcing two first-quarter turnovers of their own.
