IN A STRANGE LAND: Frankie (Patricia Heaton) and the family host an exchange student (Matthew Moy) in a new episode of “The Middle” at 8 p.m. on ABC.
SERIES
Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook: The finale of this music history series looks at the influence of talking pictures and radio on pop music. (8 p.m. KCET).
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: While investigating a savage attack on a man who seems to be an upstanding father (Michael Gladis), Benson and Stabler (Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni) encounter a second victim (Kevin Alejandro) with an identical injury — a brand on his chest from a hot wire coat hanger — in this new episode (9 p.m. NBC).
SoCal Connected: The newsmagazine series returns with a look at Proposition 19, which would legalize and regulate marijuana. Paul Mandabach discusses ballot propositions. Former Gov. Gray Davis is a guest. (9 p.m. KCET)
Law & Order: Los Angeles: Two children are killed when a meth lab in Sylmar explodes and detectives discover that those involved with the explosion are planning something more destructive (10 p.m. NBC).
Changing Lanes: In the season finale, the last four drivers of the Revolution Racing team arrive in California to race in a four-way competition (10 p.m. BET). Top Chef: Just Desserts: The chefs create black-and-white desserts for a special anniversary party at the Los Angeles Times in the new episode “Black and White” (10 p.m. Bravo).
South Park: Stan and Mr. Mackey each have a hoarding problem on a new episode of the raunchy animated series (10 p.m. Comedy Central).
