Cartoonists made short work of the holiday week. Tom Toles’ GOP surgeon tried to short-circuit healthcare reform. What a cutup. Rob Rogers’ candle-lit state dinner shortchanged the guest of honor. Hardly a happy meal. And my short-range calendar highlighted no shortage of issues that surely would have dismayed the holiday’s honoree. I guess nonviolence, tolerance and unity have always gotten short shrift.
