A 5-year-old girl was killed and three other people, including a 2-year-old girl, critically injured Monday when they were struck by a car in Riverside, authorities said.
The group of four — which also included a 16-year-old girl and a 37-year-old woman — were crossing Indiana Avenue near Racine Drive shortly before 5 p.m. when they were struck by the westbound vehicle, the Riverside Police Department said.
The 5-year-old died of her injuries at a local hospital, police said. The others were reported in critical condition on Tuesday.
Police said the group was not in a crosswalk at the time.
The investigation is ongoing. The driver had not been cited.
