An inspired West magazine cover — the recycling issue — had Angelenos pegged: environmentalist car-lovers with a sense of whimsy.
Inside were other amusing recycling ideas, including a refrigerator-turned armoire and cigarette packs made into a purse, left.
But farther inside was something less forward-looking: an article with an executive of the Glass Container Manufacturers’ Institute insisting that customers ‘want, need and demand the convenience of the nonreturnable container.’
