If you have a weakness for truly clever storage for books -- yes, actual books with paper pages -- check out the Conran Shop’s winter sale.
The New York-based site is offering at least 20% off all furniture including the late designer Egon Riss’ wonderful birch plywood Isokon Penguin Donkey bookcase, a 1939 design shown above; regularly $1,150, it’s now $920.
The black version of MDF Italia’s Random Shelving Unit, shown at right in white, is 50% off, now $1,425.
One more example: Bruno Rainaldi’s vertical Ptolomeo Book Stand in white, regularly $1,850, is now $1,450.
The winter sale includes other furnishings and holiday fare reduced by up to 75%. The bright orange bristly Coco tree is a favorite at $12.50. Some lighting, kitchen accessories and pillows are reduced too.
The sale continues online through Jan. 30.
